The Bidgee Blues & Roots Club Inc. is a non-profit organisation which, since its inception in 2006 has hosted a number of activities in an endeavour to promote and provide quality blues music throughout the Wagga Wagga NSW Riverina region.

Currently the club are holding very successful, monthly Open Mic Afternoons which are attracting a wide range of people of varying ages and levels of musicianship. The Open Mic’s are providing a valuable platform for budding young musicians to learn from experienced players with the added benefit of performing before an audience. A ‘People’s Choice’ monthly award was introduced to the OMA format in late 2013 and will culminate in a sponsored band/artist of the year in Nov 2014.

The Bidgee Blues & Roots Club also maintains a robust Facebook page that is used to promote live music in Wagga Wagga.

A further development in 2014 has been the establishment of the Bidgee Blues ‘2AAA – *Nothing but the Blues* community radio segment which is aired each Monday night from 8pm -10pm. The program is fully operated by Club members most of whom have been sponsored by Bidgee Blues to undertake the 9 week presenter training course. The content of the program is developing and over time will include regular interviews, live music recordings from local artists and Open Mic Afternoons.

International Blues Music day is held globally on the 1st Saturday of August. Bidgee Blues & Roots Club Inc has been an avid supporter of this International Event since 2013 where BBC showcases National and Local Blues Artists.
